Just recently, Greubel Forsey, arguably the most high-priced watch company in the world right now, announced its intent to switch over to 100 percent alternative leather solutions for its straps. With an average price point well into the six figures, the negative-minded among us might have expected some more exotic type of animal-based leather to cement the company’s exclusivity, but no, starting January 1, 2022, all OEM Greubel Forsey straps will be plant-based.
